Frequently Asked Questions

We want shopping with City Pawsh to feel simple and straightforward. Below are answers to some of our most common questions about sizing, fit, product care, and in-person assistance.

How do I measure my dog’s paws?
Measure your dog’s paw while they are standing and putting weight on it. This provides the most accurate measurement, since paws naturally spread when bearing weight. Use your dog’s paw measurement as your primary guide, and refer to our size chart before ordering.

What if my dog is between sizes?
If your dog falls between sizes, we generally recommend choosing the larger size. This is especially helpful for dogs with wider paws or fluffier feet. If you are unsure, please contact us for guidance or visit us for an in-person fitting.

How should I use the breed size reference?
Our breed size reference is based on average weight ranges and common breed examples. It is intended to be used as a general guide only. Because each dog’s paw shape and proportions can vary, measuring your dog’s paws will always provide the best fit.

What if my dog’s breed is not listed?
Not all breeds are included in the reference chart. If your dog’s breed is not listed, use your dog’s weight range and paw measurements to determine the best size.

What sizes do you offer?
Based on our current breed size reference, we offer the following size ranges:

  • XXXS: under 5 lbs
  • XXS: 5–12 lbs
  • XXSH: 10–17 lbs
  • XS: 13–25 lbs
  • S: 23–35 lbs
  • M: 35–50 lbs
  • L: 50–80 lbs
  • XL: 80–100 lbs
  • XXL: 90–120 lbs
  • XXXL: 150+ lbs

Please note that these ranges are based on averages and should be used together with paw measurements for the best fit.

How long does it take for dogs to get used to wearing shoes?
Adjustment time varies by dog. Some dogs adapt quickly, while others may need a gradual introduction. We recommend starting with short indoor wear sessions and using positive reinforcement to help your dog become comfortable.

Can dog shoes be used on hot pavement?
Dog shoes can help provide a protective barrier between your dog’s paws and hot or rough surfaces. However, during extreme Arizona heat, we still recommend using caution and avoiding the hottest parts of the day whenever possible.

Are your shoes waterproof?
Material and water resistance may vary by style. Please review the individual product listing for specific product details.

How do I clean the shoes?
Most shoes can be gently spot cleaned using mild soap and water, then left to air dry completely. Please refer to the product listing for any style-specific care instructions.

Do you offer returns or exchanges?
Please refer to our Shipping & Returns page for full policy details. If you have questions about sizing before placing an order, we encourage you to contact us first.

Do you offer in-person sizing assistance?
Yes. We offer in-person sizing assistance at the Phoenix Farmers Market on Saturdays from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
